FoldCompare methodology
FoldCompare separates factual device data from editorial judgment. Core specifications for the eight indexed phones are linked to official manufacturer pages, while scores remain transparent editorial analysis.

What we score
Every foldable is evaluated across display, performance, camera, battery, design and software. The overall score is a decision shortcut, while the category scores explain which buyer scenario the phone fits best.
- Display: inner canvas, cover screen, refresh rate, brightness context and crease impact.
- Camera: main, ultrawide, telephoto, travel flexibility, portraits and everyday reliability.
- Battery: capacity, charging, endurance confidence and whether thinness creates compromise.
- Design: folded thickness, weight, hinge feel, materials and pocket comfort.
- Software: multitasking, app continuity, work profile behavior and regional platform limits.
How facts and scores are separated
Specs should come from official product pages, regional product pages and current retailer or carrier information. Scores are editorial interpretations of how those facts affect real buying decisions.
- Factual fields link back to official manufacturer pages and include a dated verification note.
- Editorial scores are allowed to express judgment, but they must be explained by visible tradeoffs.
- Regional advice is kept separate from hardware scoring because availability, warranty and services change by market.
Current data stage
Core specifications for the eight indexed phones were checked against official regional manufacturer pages on July 12, 2026. Live prices, warranty coverage and software services still require a buyer to confirm the exact region and seller.
Editorial commitments
The standards this site should be judged against.
No hidden star ratings
FoldCompare avoids Review or AggregateRating rich results until there is a real review process with evidence behind the score.
Scenario-first recommendations
A phone can win for camera buyers and lose for daily carry. The site keeps those tradeoffs visible instead of forcing one universal winner.
Regional caution by default
Foldables often vary by market. Buying notes call out Google services, carrier bands, warranty and import risk when relevant.
