Trust framework

These standards define how FoldCompare documents official sources, separates factual specifications from editorial judgment and corrects material errors.

Current commercial status

FoldCompare does not currently include paid rankings, sponsored placements or affiliate purchase buttons. Display advertising does not alter editorial scores or conclusions.

If affiliate links are added

Affiliate links should be labeled clearly before the click. A commission relationship should never change score logic, comparison winners or regional buying cautions.

  • Affiliate links should be visually distinguishable from editorial navigation.
  • Pages with affiliate links should keep the disclosure close to buying calls to action.
  • Retailer availability and price claims should include a timestamp or be avoided.

Brand relationships

If FoldCompare receives review units, sponsorships, travel support or other brand-provided benefits, those relationships should be disclosed on affected pages.

Editorial commitments

The standards this site should be judged against.

No paid ranking control

Commercial relationships should not control rank order, comparison winners or score values.

Reader-first labeling

A user should understand when a click might generate revenue before leaving the page.

Separation from scoring

Scoring should remain tied to methodology, verified facts and editorial tradeoff analysis.
